Welcome to the Lower Woodstock Flute
Band website.
Say What You Want We're
Still Marching On

At the beginning the band had their
first meeting on the 18th October
2005 in the Albert Bridge Band Hall/
My Lady's Road.
We started from nothing and only
had the odd, 1 or 2 member who could
play an instrument. it took a lot of
work to get it all going but once we
got that done we got our drums
and flutes etc. We later then
relocated to My Lady's Inn Bar on My
Lady's Road, and after a few
practices we later got out on the
road for our very first parade in
Newtownards on the 17th June 2006.
In 2007 we got a grant form the
Arts Council which got us new
flutes etc.. In the middle off July
2007 we got our new drums getting
this fund made a difference to
the wee band with it all being
mostly kids.

Lower Woodstock Ulster Scots Flute
Band are now on there 2nd full
marching season. Lets make it a lot
more. As you all know the
band is made up from a majority of
kids from age's from 6 year olds to
15-16 year olds. As it being all
kids you would know it would be hard
to make this wee band work but
through strength and dedication from
the older members off the band and
the younger one's we have kept this
band going for another season and
may it continue.
We have struggled for members but
we will always put a band out
weather it be 3 drummers, and 6
fluters. This shows the dedication
in the band from the members. Many
people thought we wouldn't last
through the first marching season
but we have pulled it altogether and
pulled through and this is where we
are today. We
are currently seeking new members
for the forthcoming 2008 marching
season. If you want to be part of an
up and coming forward thinking band
then why not come along to practise
on a Monday or Tuesday evening at
7:30pm upstairs in the Longfellow Bar,
My Lady's Road. If you wish to
find out anymore information please
